Halloween:

Festive & Fun DIY Projects

Greetings Bead Fest fans! We are still recovering from an awesome experience at Bead Fest Fall. A huge thank you to all of our wonderful attendees, instructors, sponsors and exhibitors for making it a fun and successful celebration. We couldn’t have done it without you! Stay tuned for a Bead Fest Fall wrap up post next week showcasing all of the highlights from the event!

This week, we are celebrating one of our favorite holidays on the blog—Halloween! In our opinion, Halloween becomes even more fun and special with each passing year. After all, who doesn’t want to curl up on the couch, have a Halloween movie marathon (complete with Hocus Pocus, Beetlejuice & Halloweentown), sip a pumpkin spice flavored beverage, and search Pinterest for the perfect costume ideas?
Discover the fun and simple DIYs we are going crazy for this Halloween season. Best of all, none of the projects listed below are overly complicated, or spooky—you have our word.

Bead Fest’s Favorite Halloween DIY Projects

Halloween Garland

Adorn your mantle, staircase, or office with this darling and simple garland crafted from yarn and fishing line. All of the materials can be found at your local craft shop, and it’s so simple, even the kids can help out!

Tip: Have fun with the colors of yarn you use! No one ever said pumpkins have to be orange. Looking to personalize your garland a bit more? Create faces for your pumpkins, ghosts and spiders with extra beads you have laying around.

Craft Cat and Mouse Halloween Pumpkins

Here at Bead Fest, there is only one thing we love as much as creating jewelry art. CATS! We simply adore our furry feline friends. We spotted this darling and budget friendly cat and mouse pumpkin tutorial and just had to share it with you. Best of all, there is no carving required, so this is a mess-free project. And if you happen to be a dog person, well, we won’t be offended if you customize your critter accordingly.

Halloween Marshmallow Pops

Chocolate, marshmallows and festive Halloween sprinkles. It just doesn’t get any cuter—or easier—than these darling dessert pops! If you’re searching for a unique sugary treat that requires zero baking, give this one a try!

Party tip: Insert a stick into each marshmallow and set them on a tray, alongside individual dishes filled with melted chocolate, sprinkles and scrumptious candies. Each guest can visit your marshmallow pop station and decorate their own dessert! This tip is great for kids and all of us kids at heart, too.

Decorated Halloween Skulls

If you want to give your home a glamorous Halloween makeover, trade in the classic Jack-O-Lanterns for these inexpensive DIY sugar skulls. We found plain ceramic skulls for just $6 at our local craft shop! Now all you need is some paint, glitter and optional beads and gemstones to decorate your project.
Make it match: Does your home have a color scheme? Match up the colorful shades on your sweet skulls to the color scheme of your home! Everyone will be blown away by your dazzling customized creations.

Take on a new Halloween-themed jewelry art project!
